FJ Holden, The

Aroview: Low-budget youth drama that follows the travails of two smalltime Holden-driving hoons in the West Sydney suburb of Bankstown.

Both commended and reviled for its 1970s period accuracy, this certainly captures a certain knuckle-headed poetry with candid humour and deadpan irony. It may even strike a sentimental note for many Kiwis. Soundtrack includes The Skyhooks.
