Aroview: Martin Clunes plays a luckless obstetrician who leaves his unfaithful wife in London to become the local doctor in a small Cornish fishing village.
In the pilot episode, his arrival coincides with an unusual crimewave involving a nuisance jelly maker, meaning the Doc has to unmask the perpetrator to avoid suspicion himself. Able and broad comedy in the classic English mould, with Clunes a slack-jawed highlight in the lead as the surgically brilliant but socially tactless GP.

3 stars (Good Enough) "The pilot movie" is not a pilot for the series. After this movie tried for a TV series instead, with more "edge". The movie here has a different Dr (friendly). No relation to the Dr in the TV series though he is played by Martin Clunes. ~Anon
