Aro Recommended Future of Food, The

USA 2004, 88 minutes
Dir. Deborah Koons Garcia
Rating: [Exempt]
Genres: Documentary

Topics: Business & Economics, Good Taste, Eco-friendly.

Aroview: An informative, at times frightening, investigation into how multinationals companies - often supported by government subsidies - have sought to gain totalitarian control over the world's food-production through the promotion of genetically-modified food crops.

Taking an admirably measured (although aesthetically-conservative) approach, dir. Garcia outlines with lucidity and integrity a raft of corporate hypocrisies, including suppression of negative research, legal attacks on independent farmers, and unregulated release of GMO-organisms, all achieved courtesy of aggressive lobbying and embedded government influence. Required viewing for all those who eat food!
