Dirty War

UK / USA 2004, 90 minutes
Dir. Daniel Percival
Rating: [M]
Genres: Drama / Hostages & Terrorism

Topics: Atomic!, Disaster.

Aroview: A BBC dramatisation which proposes how, in the post-9/11 world, a large-scale terrorist attack might be unleashed on London using 'dirty bomb' technology: an explosive device which would spread radioactive material over a wide area.

Cutting between the perspectives of suicide bombers, police, and Scotland Yard, the film succeeds in demonstrating the essential ill-preparedeness of the authorities when faced with the inventive committment of the modernday terrorists. Although overly prosaic, dir. Percival imparts a certain panicked reality to proceedings.
