Aroview: Contentious yet affable US version of Ricky Gervais' hit BBC series set in the modern microcosm of 'the office', where hierachy, ambition, custom and sarcasm collide in inappropriate but instantly recognisable ways.

In the lynchpin role, Steve Carrell creates a more likeable, yet equally buffoonish, head manager, while the rest of the cast intepret their British originals with a studious eye to cultural differences. Although not quite as squeamish and devastating as Gervais' classic, this has what it takes.
