Like MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, this spoofs the sincerities of Hollywood and American culture with a grotesque hit-and-miss charm, as Sedaris tries to innocently and clownishly re-enter her adolescence. Helped by a swag of celebrity cameos, it's often vulgar and inspired, but relies a little too much on Sedaris' haggard rubber-faced mugging.
