Aroview: A rather fascinating speculation which dramatises the real-life relationship between "Sherlock Homes"-author Arthur Conan Doyle (Laing) and the forensic pathologist Joseph Bell (Richardson) in 1870s Edinburgh.

Adapted from David Pirie's excellent novels, the pilot episode "The Dark Beginnings Of Sherlock Holmes" has the duo hunt down a nasty murderer plaguing the night-time streets of the Scottish city, amply demonstrating how Bell was the prototype for the Holmes character. Brilliant atmosphere and characterisations make this a must for fans of great period crime drama.

Complete Series: four episodes across three discs.
