Big White, The

USA 2005, 100 minutes
Dir. Mark Mylod
Rating: [M]
Genres: Suspense/Crime / Black Comedy

Aroview: Black farce set in snowy Alaska around travel-agent Robin Williams who is struggling to help his ailing wife and seizes a dubious opportunity when a dead body turns up in a local skip and he claims it as his long-lost brother's so as to cash in an insurance policy.

Events spiral when the local insurance adjuster (Ribisi) begins to doggedly sniff out the scam, and then the brother himself (Harrelson) turns up... Garners a few laughs from the yokel humour and Ribisi's acerbic turn, but treads much of the territory of FARGO down into a mediocre cinematic slush.
