David Suchet broadly, if unlikeably encompasses the decadence of his character’s wealth, though the Victorian satire evident in the novel is a little on the plain side here. Elsewhere, Shirley Henderson and Matthew MacFadyen provide ample distraction as daughter and cad in affair.
