A tour of Roman, Anglo-Saxon and Victoria Times, the occupations considered are invariably dirty, dehumanizing or life threatening. Ever the good sport, Robinson himself partakes in many of the wretched jobs described, giving this original documentary series a particularly hands-on edge.
