Beyond Hatred
Aroview: Sensitive documentary following the aftermath of a hate crime in which a 30-year old gay man was beaten to death by a trio of skinheads in a French park.
As the stoic parents of the man come to terms with their grief in the lead up to the trial, they try to push 'beyond hatred' and towards forgiveness. Missing, though, is the trial itself and even the appearance of the perpetrators, forcing the viewer into a singular, though sympathetic, perspective.
