Kurt Cobain - About a Son
Aroview: Elegiac, moving documentary on Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain takes an appositely nonconformist approach to his unusual life and times.
Based on more than 25 hours of audio interviews with Cobain, the narrative essentially plays out as an autobiographical overview of his wildly fluctuating life, with the meditative imagery redolent of another figure-of-fascination doco JANDEK ON CORWOOD.
While it could be accused of adding little to the extensive (and, some might say, exploitative) documentation of Cobain’s all-too-brief existence, it nevertheless comes highly recommended for those seeking a more intimate, esoteric take on a revered musical icon.
