Run Fatboy Run

Aroview: A relatively mainstream Brit rom-com from co-writer Simon Pegg (SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ) who here stars as a 'runaway groom' who tries to win back his former fiance (Newton) by competing in a marathon.

Conforming neatly to the template of 'likeable-jerk-who-try-to-make-amends' movies, this holds few surprises though the marathon does provide a solid running gag (geddit?) and it works as the beer-and-pizza blokey entertainment for which its intended. And with Newton, Hank Azaria and Dylan Moran in lively support, the girls won't mind going along for the wish-fulfilment ride. Directed by David Schwimmer (he of FRIENDS fame).
