Aroview: Maladroit war drama based on the true story of a Russian soldier captured by the Mujahedin in Afghanistan who becomes enthralled by his freedom fighter captives. Directed by French documentary filmmaker and Afghan devotee Ponfilly, this Soviet-invasion-set film paints an amicable picture of the country and its people while also managing to effectively portray the horrors of warfare.
