Evangelion 'Rebuild' Movies

Aroview: The much repeated, much imitated anime makes its big screen debut as a ‘reboot’ of the landmark 26 episode series, following boy hero Shinji’s baptism of fire as a reluctant pilot of the titular ‘Eva Units’ – giant mechanised robots deployed to defend Tokyo against marauding ‘Angels’ sent to obliterate mankind.

Plenty of ‘spit and polish’ has refreshed the series visually and aurally, although the compressed storyline will likely perplex those not already indoctrinated to its cryptic narrative, bawdy sense of humour, and grand religious symbolism. The first of four planned Evangelion ‘rebuild’ movies.
