Aroview: Having switched the setting of Chandler's classic Marlowe mystery to the U.K, it's still a hard act to follow after the magnificent performance of Bogart and Bacall, but this version is still arresting in having the great Robert Mitchum perform as the fabled private eye. For a bit of film trivia, Joan Collins' performance was one that secured her a role in the long running DYNASTY series.
