Aroview: Hollywood crosses enemy lines with Tom Cruise perversely cast as a disaffected Nazi officer who leads a plot to assassinate Hitler.
Dispensing with accents across the board, if not Cruise's air of self-righteousness, this doesn't come close to authentic dramas like DOWNFALL, or even SCHINDLER'S LIST, but it does have a certain pulpy panache that one would expect from the dir. of X-MEN. Degree of enjoyment may depend on the viewer's knowledge of the 'true' story, which offers a mixed bag dramatically, but it does finally build toward a tense, tragic denouement.

2 stars (Good Try) There is acting talent to burn here plus there is Tom Cruise. There was a chance to kill him off in the first scene but the talented Bernard Hill paid the price instead. Excellent production values.~tubbs
