Hammer, The

Aroview: Likable comedy stars Carolla as a washed-up boxer who decides to get his act together after his 40th birthday and begin a quest for Olympic gold.

Carolla - who also inspired the original screenplay - manages to make the rather predictable narrative sing thanks to a freewheeling, partially improvised performance, and a refreshingly authentic depiction of the sport can be attributed to his own experience as an amateur boxer.
