Slam Nation

Aroview: Portland, Oregon is the home of The National Poetry Slam, a performance poetry competition which attracts participants from twenty-six states and boasts an impressive line-up of slam-teams, comedians, actors and open-mikers.

Blending riveting sports-documentary style competition footage with some hilarious back-stage antics, the film follows participants, audience and organisers to paint a colourful picture of a fascinating sub-culture which originated in the coffeehouses of 1980's Chicago.
