Scarface
Aroview: Sweat-breakingly violent portrait of a contemporary mobster with Pacino in top gear as the ruthless megalomaniac. Stunning, if you can hack it. Written by Oliver Stone.

5 stars (Exceptional) De Palma's telling of the rise of Tony Montana is uber-violent, ruthless, and stunningly characterised by Pacino. Say hello to my little friend! ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) The first half, following Tony's ruthless rise from homeless refugee to drug overlord, is stylish, scary, amoral pulp fiction. The second half takes an awful long time to spell out the obvious, wearing out our interest in the miserable characters. ~fairbrother
3 stars (Good Enough) Pacino is entertaining, and the film has some great moments, but it is very patchy in both pace and quality. ~Wizzums
