Winnebago Man
Aroview: Ostensibly about a gag reel gone viral, this hugely likeable documentary uses Jack Rebney's hilarious (and some might say, cathartic) expletive-ridden outtakes from a promo video he fronted for Winnebago in the eighties as a launch pad to explore the pitfalls of internet stardom and one man's extreme aversion to fame.
In seeking out the reclusive Rebney, dir. Steinbauer's constant presence on camera is, at times, intrusive in the way Michael Moore is, though his doggedness eventually sends the doco in an altogether unpredictable direction. Though best left unspoiled, we guarantee you'll be cheering for Jack by the film's end, whose "bad day at the office" we surely can all relate too.
