Aroview: Ray Winstone is lured to New Zealand in this turn-of-the-century chase movie, in which the hulking Brit plays a master South African tracker pursuing the bounty on a 'savage' (Morrison) wrongly accused of murder.

This 'Maori Fugitive', of sorts, runs well within the sidelines of the action-adventure playing field, delivering wholly predictable turns and telegraphed character development. If the country's 'Middle Earth' scenery is your thing, then the film's primordial wilderness may push your buttons. Beyond that, however, a strictly conventional local product without much in the way of ambition or thrills.
