Space Battleship Yamato

Aroview: Hulking sci-fi blockbuster sees the survivors of a radioactive Earth pin their hopes on a massive spaceship outfitted with all the mod-cons, including time-warp technology that will transport them to new a planet 148,000 light years away.

Based on a long-running anime series, this flaunts an impressive sense of scale and spectacle, though lacks attention to detail in other departments, most notably the acting and dialogue, which in keeping with the tradition of these types of movies, remains wooden at best.
