Aroview: A commercial, action-inflected rendering of Peking Opera (a la Tsui Hark's PEKING OPERA BLUES), centred on the rivalry between two “wusheng” (male warrior roles in a opera troupe). Hammy plot dynamics give way to extravagant period costumes and elegant fight sequences amid the colour and camp of the opera world in 1920s Shanghai.
