Aroview: Kirk Douglas is his grizzled, hard-bitten self as one of several detectives trying to get through the work day at a busy Brooklyn precinct.
Prefiguring BARNEY MILLER, much of the action is mundane and humorous, and is centred mainly on petty criminals and complainants passing through the precinct. A strangely compelling oddity that at once shows its stage play roots, and successfully transforms them for the screen.
