Vive la France

France 2013, 94 minutes
Dir. Michael Youn
In French with English subtitles
Genres: Foreign Cinema, Comedy

Topics: Satire.

Aroview: This on-the-nose French farce centres on two naive country shepherds who have been ordered by their government to blow up the Eiffel Tower in order to 'promote' their tiny Central Asia nation of Taboulistan. Particularly sharp in its critique of Parisians and French tourism, it also recalls the hijinks of that other cultural terrorist, Borat.
