Aroview: Director Tim Burton refreshingly breaks with fantasy for this resplendent biopic of painter Margaret Keane, whose prolific and popular work was bizarrely credited to her husband in the shamelessly patriarchal 1950s and 60s. A light entertainment but ripely gender-political, with Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz both exceedingly watchable.

3 stars (Good Enough) Richly photographed and the periodic props/set designs are spot on. Waltz is great as the male asshole but I couldn't think of a better casting choice than Amy Adams for her character. ~Tubbs
