“An unexpectedly sweet and utterly satisfying confection, a loving sendup of the Hollywood of yesteryear.”~Christopher Orr, The Atlantic
Aroview: Light yet dazzlingly bright comic outing from the Coen Bros follows real life Hollywood 'fixer' Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin) as he frantically tries to trace a missing star against the backdrop of increasing Communist paranoia.
A mischievous excuse to pay homage to the various genres of old Hollywood, highlighted by a Channing Tatum-led song-and-dance number. Likely to alienate those looking for comic conventionality but recommended for those who warmed to THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, or who lament how they "don't make 'em like that anymore".

3 stars (Good Enough) Immaculately mounted misfire. Some great supporting faces, nifty sound design and Ehrenreich's charming cowboy star, but when you consider the calibre of actual '50s Hollywood insider movies, this is pretty small beer.~HiFi
