4 stars (Very Good) Set in 1930's NZ, one summer holiday 12-year-old Geoff befriends Firpo - a strange magical character with a burning ambition to run in the Olympic Games - on the beach where he lives. A beautiful charming story of childhood dreams. ~GenXGirl
