Aroview: A uniquely humanistic portrayal of tragic poverty in Beirut from the perspective of an extraordinarily gutsy 12 year old Lebanese boy. After suffering unforgivable mistreatment by his parents which leads to homelessness, starvation and incarceration, he attempts to sue them for bringing him into the world. A well-crafted film whose enormous emotional power feels at times contrived, but the central performance of non-professional actor Zain Al Rafeea is anything but.

3 stars (Good Enough) Although the antics of the boy weren't convincing the screenplay was well intentioned with regard to the vulnerability of the women & children. There was some excellent location shooting to highlight the poverty. ~Tubbs
5 stars (Exceptional) I loved this movie ~Catapillar
3 stars (Good Enough) 2.5/5 - Yes there is also illegal immigration out of Europe/USA, with it's cortege of misery and immigration smugglers. While religion is kept out, the socio-cultural differences are a shock. Tenderness makes a good balance ~Anonz
