Super Cops, The

Aroview: 70's buddy cop movie which was released almost simultaneously with the more well-known and similar SERPICO, and lifted from relative obscurity by director and longtime fan Edgar Wright, who took inspiration from it for HOT FUZZ.

Based on the book "The Super Cops: The True Story of the Cops Called Batman and Robin" by L. H. Whittemore, about a pair of overeager new police graduates who quickly tire of their entry level desk jobs, and start making huge drug and weapons busts while working undercover without authorisation. Director Gordon Parks (SHAFT) brings some funky energy to the grubby NYC streets.
