Gloriavale

Aroview: A moving exposé of human exploitation in our own backyard, which continues within the infamous Gloriavale Christian Community on the West Coast of the South Island.

The film partly follows the process of a legal team to get to a ‘truth’ that has long eluded government agencies, but it is the brave, honest and generous testimony of three members of the Ready family that make this arresting viewing. The film holds its own with international stories about religious cults, which almost always follow the same pattern of patriarchal sin.
