Aroview: Oscar-sweeping, hugely influential film version of Bernstein and Sondheim's landmark Broadway musical, updating Romeo and Juliet to dockland New York in the 50s. While some of the songs arguably don't hold up quite so well these days, the dance sequences and luminous photography set the standard for the modern musical.
