Aroview: The man behind STAR WARS and, yep, THX digital sound, made his feature debut with this stark sci-fi chamber piece, most remembered for its bleached production design. Like Orwell's 1984, it's set in a miserably oppressive future where the simplest pleasures are forbidden.

4 stars (Very Good) Holy cats, this is Lucas!? The visuals are stunning, the ideas are prescient, and the sound is crazy. I tend to hate hard scifi, and I still loved this one. ~Pop&Coffee
