Aroview: Ron Howard's comedy suffered from untimely, post-TRUMAN SHOW release, but this more conventional TV satire has enough of a different angle to make it worth tuning in to.

Ambition-free everybloke Matthew McConaughey is plucked from obscurity to feature as the subject of the ultimate reality show, broadcast live around the clock, which surprisingly generates huge ratings thanks to a simmering love triangle involving his live-in brother and his girlfriend.

Fascination with celebrity and the manipulative power of telly are of course the obvious cards, but the reverberating hysteria and dysfunction etched out by the bright supporting cast makes for as much of a reason to be glued to this set.
