Aroview: Under the weight of an alcoholic mother (Helen Hunt) an idealistic youngster (Haley Joel Osment) plans to change the world by doing good deeds in advance. The idea and execution are as first rate as the lead performances (rounded out by Kevin Spacey), but all the do-gooding is hampered by shameless Hollywood sentiment in the final reel.
