Bruce Almighty
Aroview: The second coming of Jim Carrey for the director of LIAR LIAR is a similar ‘high concept’ comedy with the same ratio of side-splitting and throwaway moments, and obligatory touches of Hollywood sentiment.
After being squeezed out of a promotion, the life of Carrey's self-centred TV journalist takes an extraordinary turn when he is empowered with divine gifts by the Man Upstairs (Morgan Freeman). Though Carrey’s schtick appears somewhat past its sell-by date, he’s still a good deal more watchable than most of his comic contemporaries.
