Gospel According to Philip K. Dick, The

USA 2000, 95 minutes
Dir. Mark Steensland
Rating: [Exempt]
Genres: Documentary, Science Fiction

Aroview: A loosely-assembled scan through the unusual life and mind of influential sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, whose twisting literary explorations on the nature of identity and reality have formed the basis of several Hollywood movies, including BLADE RUNNER and TOTAL RECALL.

Something of an eccentric Dick wrote over 50 novels and numerous short stories, but received little recognition up until his death in the early 1980s, and was notorious for claiming in 1974 that a "pink light" had invaded his mind. Relying on interviews and audio tape-recordings of the author, this raises many questions about the man, but is ultimately too modest in scale to present many answers.
