Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

Aroview: Opening on the 21st birthday of the budding Genovian Princess (Hathaway), this creditable, if hardly superior sequel, finds the transplanted San Franciscan lass having learnt the royal ropes, but with new crises to face.

Among these, is an insider plot to wed her to an English blue-blood, while other, cuter, prospects also beckon the newly confident beauty. However, finally, this is so witlessly chocka with the cliches of bigscreen 'royalty', that all but the intended younger audience should avoid the engagement.
