The Blues: Red White and Blues

USA 2003, 84 minutes
Dir. Mike Figgis
Rating: [M]
Genres: Documentary, Music / Jazz & Blues

Aroview: The sixth part of Martin Scorcese's TV mini-series celebration of one of America's quintessential musical forms "the Blues".

Another of the standout episodes from the series, this has dir. Figgis straightforwardly examine the 'British Blues' - in which British imitators in the 50s and 60s (such as Eric Clapton and The Rolling Stones) produced their unique aesthetic. Exciting to watch for the live jams which continue throughout featuring Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Tom Jones and Lulu.
