Aroview: Set in the turmoil of 1930s Europe, this cloudy melodrama involves an irresponsible French-American socialite (Theron) who becomes a fascination for an Oxford student (Townsend) and a former-stripper (Cruz) respectively.

Sprawling across Parisian bohemia, the Spanish Civil War and Nazi Occupation of France, this love-triangle occasionally sparkles with Theron's free-wheeling egotism to the fore, yet the romantic element is gradually lost under the glossy pseudo-exoticism of the setting. Even so, Theron turns in a mercurial performance almost on a par with MONSTER.
