Aroview: Above-average telemovie charts the career of the radio DJ in Cleveland, Ohio who discovered the joys of 'Rhythm and Blues' music in the mid-1950s and popularised it to white audiences, inventing the term 'rock'n'roll' in the process. Nelson halfway manages to portray Freed's manic energy, though without the all-necessary charisma.
