Night The Prowler, The

Aroview: Based on a play by Patrick White, this stylised drama concerns a sexually repressed young woman (Walker), under the thumb of her domineering snobbish mother.

One night, she is 'liberated' in an ambiguous incident where she may have been raped and takes to prowling the Sydney streets in black leather for thrills, property damage and encounters with various freaks. Combining black humour and literate camp-ness, this forgotten gem plays like a startling blend of SWEETIE and ROCKY HORROR.
