Aroview: A commendably lavish biopic of the stage-comedienne Gertude Lawrence, who wooed the British stage in the first half of the 20th century.

Although criticised heavily at the time, there are many and varied evocations of the world of early musicals, while Julie Andrews gives an excellent lead performance. Taking the honours though is Daniel Massey, giving a mincingly accurate portrayal of Lawrence's childhood friend Noel Coward.
