Aroview: Mining similar territory to the feature-film SAVAGE HONEYMOON, this is a considerably more successful attempt at capturing the customs, mores and humour of the underbelly of NZ culture.

Set around a family of 'Westie' (West Auckland) criminals trying to go the straight and narrow after the patriarch is sent to prison, this is anchored by a sterling turn from the ever-improving Robyn Malcolm ('Shortland Street'), though the writing is also consistently sharp.

4 stars (Very Good) One of, if not THE, best NZ dramas ever made (film or television), Outrageous Fortune is a highly entertaining series with high production values and a well-penned script. ~Tom H
