Zhou Yu's Train

Aroview: Gong Li shimmers as a gorgeous ceramic artisan in rural China, who is torn between two men - a reclusive poet (Leung) and an affable vetenarian (Sun).

Sacrificing herself somewhat at the altar of Leung's poetry, Li sways into a dreamy, somewhat foolish, world of infatuation, symbolised by endless romantic commuting by train across the ravishing countryside. Altogether a simple and effective love story, complicated a little by Li's mysterious double, whose meaning is only revealed at the climax.
