  4 stars (Very Good) Somewhere between Disneyland and Las Vegas, in the desert off Route 66, Jasmin wanders into a shabby motel complex - frequented by a bizarre collection of individuals, and run by the bossy Brenda. An enchanting and off-beat delight. ~GenXGirl

  5 stars (Exceptional) This is one of the funniest films made: Germany meets Monty Python. The Frau stranded among authentic, dysfunctional desert folk is believable, delightful and funny. Each actor is faithful to character and all worthy of a Peter Sellars award. ~rakau

  4 stars (Very Good) A cheerful lightweight film, carried by excellent acting, especially by Jack Palance. Sadly, the copycat desert "Baghdad Cafe", operated by a Bedouin family on the highway south of Palmyra, Syria, is probably no more. It, too, was a friendly place ~Sandy

  4 stars (Very Good) Sägebrecht & Pounder work extremely well together in a screenplay that doesn't lack original ideas. The photography makes great use of colours & the only real negatives are an anti-climatic ending & Palance's character, which is a bit of a spare part. ~Tubbs
