Phil the Alien
Aroview: One of the more original satires to emerge from Canada, this proffers the tale of a humanoid alien who crashlands his saucer in the backwoods of Ontario and gets introduced to the earthly joys of alcoholic liquor.
Developing something of a passion for inebriation, he stumbles into various encounters with country hicks, barflys, government agents and a talking beaver. Although the story gets over-extended, this manages to keep its clever goofballs in the air and the viewer endeared to the central character, played by the dir. himself.
