Conversations with Mother

Aroview: Chaotic, poignant and amusing, this Argentinian drama has a newly redundant man try and persuade his 80-year old mother to sell her apartment so as to support the wider family.

Unfortunately, he finds her both unwilling to go through with this scheme and in thrall to a new boyfriend - a "retired anarchist" - which leads to a series of elliptical exchanges as everyone tries to get what they want. Sharply written and unexpectedly truthful.
