Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Aroview: Propelled by a nicely preposterous premise this action-comedy has bored suburban couple Pitt and Jolie both leading double-lives as skilled assassins - unknown to each other, that is, until they are assigned by rival contracters to terminate the marriage partner...!
Undoubtedly lit from within by the star's onscreen chemistry, as they bicker and toy with the idea of a conveniently lethal 'divorce', dir. Liman is also playfully light-handed with his unfolding action set-pieces, which have a kind of wittily fateful elegance. Although perhaps overlong, this remains a sleek entertainment, the script's black comedy an excellent tonic to any potential celebrity smugness.

3 stars (Good Enough) without Pitt and Jolie, this most likely would have amounted to nothing. There are one-liners, action, and comedy, but it is ultimately the charisma and chemistry of the stars that makes this somewhat entertaining. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) As the attractiveness of watching the two stars wore off after five minutes the thin material became repetitive and needed to be curtailed much sooner than it was. ~Tubbs
